Autumn Colors
We've had a LOT of rain and cloudy skies. Prior to that we had almost no rain and warm temperatures. The result is that we are just now getting our peak colors in Southern Michigan, but not a lot of sunlight to make them brilliant.
Still ... here are a few nice photos.
(I think if you click on photos in this new environment, it makes them bigger.)And ... I'll be in Charlotte, NC, next week. Wonder what it looks like there?

I live near Charlotte. What is your trip about? It's a pretty nice city...go Panthers!
I'm hoping to kick through that carpet with saintvi while you are off galavanting. The colors are pretty good -especially at the boy's new house. They have 2 maples (huge ones) that are brilliant yellow with orange edges. When the sun was shining it was spectacular...
Interestingly, I thought of you when I took the photo of the leaves at my feet. They seemed to be visual picture of one of your many poetry challenges.
I love autumn colors. Thanks for sharing yours.
Be safe on your trip. I hope you aren't so busy at work there that you don't have any time to look around(take a camera),
I see one of your Xangan friends lives near there. It would be neat if you could meet. (ooh, I just rhymed. hehe)
I'm glad you posted. I miss your wife's blog. It used to be so regular and prominant. This lets us know that you are both alive and ok, which I am thankful for.
Keep smiling, and keep enjoying those outdoor adventures. Autumn won't last forever.
So pretty. I really miss that.
Brett, it's been a very, very long time... perhaps too long. I was feeling nostalgic and thought I'd try to track you down, but I can only do so much on the work computer (shh, don't tell, haha). This is gelatinemonkey, from a long, long time ago (prior to 2009, I think).
I just thought I'd give you an update on how things have gone since last we talked. God has been SO amazing. My wife (whom I met on the trip to Japan you helped me with... thank you again for that) and I have moved to Japan, and I am working for an English teaching company that's placed me at one of the best schools in my prefecture. We love it here, and are active in a local church. My Japanese is still quite rusty, but getting better. I pray God has been continuing to bless you and your family over the past 5 years. We've seen so much, and been showered with God's blessings since moving here.
Perhaps you'll get a notification of this message. Who knows. Anyway, thank you for everything, and I'm sorry I waited so long to try and get back in touch. If you still have my e-mail, please feel free to contact me anytime.
Sincerely,
~Scott (gelatinemonkey)
