  • Building

This is my first post using Xanga 2.0.

Below is a photo of the fire that destroyed our neighbor's home and killed their dogs and cats. That was in January.

In early summer, the Gerlocks had to get a variance from the village planning commission regarding how their new home would be placed. One of their neighbors tried to create trouble for the sake of creating trouble, but was unsuccessful.

For the past week or two, the new foundation/basement has been created.

This week, the new home has been going into place.

    Another side staged

They're still finishing it up, but here's what it kind of looks like going into place.

    House on foundation

And just like how we can build homes to replace old ones, I've now built a post on a new website that replaced the old one.

  • Life moves on.

  • It's good to see you Brett.
How are the neighbors that lived in the burnt house, and where have they been staying since? Did they move temporarily and are they going to be the tennents of this new one, or will you have new neighbors?

I know you are a busy man, but I hope during this time of transition you have been well, and I hope the new truck is filling all your needs (well, you know what I mean...vehicle wise)

    • Same neighbors; their insurance paid to have the house replaced.
I have been doing well, albeit not blogging as much as in the past. I think I update Google+ more often, but with shorter posts.

  • Where did they put that big pile of dirt? I'm sure they are looking forward to moving into their home - a testament to the charm of small town living that they have decided to rebuild instead of relocating!

    • I know they're excited to see this coming together after nine months in a temporary situation. I think any of us who've only had to move from one house to another knows how good it feels to finally settle into a new place.
