I dnt luv U. I wnt a DVORCE!
I just found out that Hope, a young friend of mine, got a text from her husband:
"I dnt luv U. I wnt a DVORCE!"
Nice.

They were sweethearts since early Jr. High for 6 years, and have been married for 4 years. Every time I've heard her speak of him, it has been in adoring ways, even though he pretty much bankrupt them by hiding financial issues last year.
Now, he has a better job and says he's ready to move on and leave all the painful things behind ... including his wife.
She's devastated, obviously, and wondering how she'll get by working in a nursing home for $300/wk. Fortunately, no kids in the mix.
Guess a lot of people break up by email and text these days.
Seems cowardly to me, but then, is there a good way to say "We're done!"?

ouch! I'm so sorry for your friend.
Now that's the sort of thing that makes me want to go talk some sense into the guy, preferably with a large mallet.
that is very cowardly of that man. shame on him. I am sorry for your friend. I hope she is able to mourn her loss and move on with a new joy in life...
that's beyond cowardly of the guy! This just leaves me speechless! Praying for your friend......hope she can move on!
That's really sad. I will be praying for them.
Some people have no consideration. It is not only cowardly but callous. I think Hope may be better off in the long run but the pain and financial worries are real and pressing. I'll say a prayer for her.
Asking for divorce in a poorly-written text? That really hurts. I hope she'll be okay.
God is the glue of relationship. When a culture rejects God relationships breakdown. Even Christians need relationship rehab. I would like to say I am shocked, but this isn't shocking, it is commonplace. Christ followers need to take a step back and become circumspect about their relationships.
How would you feel, as a father, if this happened to Krysten? Does God, the most loving Father a daughter could have, feel any different about his daughter Hope, or any other of his other daughters??
No break up feels good to either party, but I think it's best done in person...
This young lady should think about going back to school... LPN school or RN school.
Wonder if she could live with her parents temporarily while she is going to school..
Good luck to her. Not easy.
There may be a light in a dark room if she tries to improve herself financially.
That man is a gutless, classless, coward.
Thankfully they have no kids. She need never see him again.
Still painful for her though.
so sorry for your friend. though technology is so advanced right now, i still don't think email or text is a good way to break up with someone. unless he or she has never meant anything to you.
People deserve better than to get a crudely written text saying that something as serious as their marriage is over.
Gah. What a coward.
Are you kidding? That poor girl was told she is getting a divorce over text? I thought it was just kids who were pathetic and not mature enough to handle a relationship, clearly it is adults as well. My heart goes out your your friend.I wish her the best of luck in the future, sounds like she will need it. Please give her lots of support, that is what is going to keep her a strong woman through this horrible situation. She can obviously do some much better, she can find someone who will show some respect to her!
Cheapskate. Can't even cough up for vowels.
How painful. She really didn't see it coming?
That's horrible and cowardly! Ugh... makes me sick.
Sucks!
